Introduction
To minimize the effects of metal impurities and residual silanol groups present in silica gel, YJ Biochrom utilized its own repurified, chromatography-optimized silica gel, that has been re-purified by our company.
The surface of the purified silica gel was coated with a silicon polymer using chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and then functional groups were directly bonded to synthesize the packing material (gas-phase reaction).
To remove any remaining silanol groups that may still be present after the synthesis of the packing material, we conducted additional end-capping under high temperature and high pressure, minimizing the influence of residual silanol groups to the utmost extent.
The packing material, which has functional groups directly bonded to the silicon polymer (-Si-R), exhibits a subtle difference in separation patterns compared to conventional packing materials that bond functional groups to silanol groups (-Si-O-Si-R).

Product Description
Aegispak C18-F
· This C18 HPLC column features relatively low hydrophobicity and low surface polarity.
· C18-F HPLC column is effective for the rapid analysis of highly hydrophobic compounds. (USP L1)
Aegispak C18-FA
· This is an Aegispak C18-F column that has been treated with strong acid for 6 days. It is highly resistant to acids. (USP L1)
Aegispak C18-L
· This is a HPLC column with excellent aqua characteristics (tested with 100% buffer mobile phase for over 100 hours).
· Aegispak C18-L HPLC column features high hydrophobicity and low surface polarity.
· As a general-purpose HPLC column with moderate retention characteristics, it is highly versatile for the analysis of both polar and hydrophobic compounds. (USP L1)
Aegispak C18-LA
· This is an Aegispak C18-L column that has been treated with strong acid for 6 days. It is a HPLC column with strong acid resistance. (USP L1)
Aegispak C8
· This C8 HPLC column features low hydrophobicity and high surface polarity.
· C8 HPLC column allows for faster analysis compared to C18, but effective separation requires a significant polarity difference between samples.
· C8 HPLC column is highly effective for rapid analyses, such as content testing of single substances. (USP L7)
